End of Days?
Not too long ago, I received a flyer from the Border and Immigration Agency of the Home Office, to the effect that from February 29, companies that employ illegal immigrants would be committing a big offence which carries a hefty fine. Companies are expected to confirm immigration status before employing, a practice that unfortunately gives too much power to the occasional bigot in human resources.
I have also recently come across TV and newspaper adverts proclaiming the vileness and criminality of illegal immigration. On January 28 Channel 4 News reported “a huge increase in foreign arrestees throughout the UK. Police forces throughout Britain are at ‘bursting point’ as they struggle to cope with an influx of migrants…”
Between 2003 and 2006, the Metropolitan Police (covering the London area) reported a 49% increase in arrests of illegal immigrants; Hertfordshire 61%; South Yorkshire 65%; Gwent (Gwent? Where the heck is Gwent, for crying out loud?) 673% (no, it's not a typo - 673%). It appears that illegal immigrants that moved to rural areas because the authorities there seemed more ‘gentle’ are now flocking back to seek the anonymity of the metropolis.
I discussed this trend with some friends, the general consensus being that since Britain opened up to Eastern Europe and Polish, Slovak, Bulgarian, Romanian, etc. migrants came in offering cheaper labour, illegal immigrants are no longer tolerated. One dissenting voice said even the Polish are returning home as the golden fleece now seems well and truly jaded.
The above argument does not work for me though. How about across the pond in the US? Most of their police forces are now undertaking ICE (Immigration Control and Enforcement) courses, which they would not have touched with a barge pole a couple of years ago, even those that resisted it before have signed up with a resultant backlog of 92 forces awaiting their turn. The new policy seems to target their Latino population across huges swathes of Texas, LA, Arizona and Florida. Some forces such as those in Houston now verify the immigration status of anyone they stop, even a traffic stop for a broken tail light.
What is going on?

What amuses me is that in this fight against illegal immigrants Nigerians seem to have been majorly unaffected...
I seem them targeting asians, chiness but most especially the polish people...hmmm guess we are not all that bad afterall...
Oh mann!!! Thats some deep shit. We in Bots have stopped returning illegal immigrants to their homes bcoz, you transport them out today, you'll see then again the net morning. So really there's no use. Especially the Zimbabweans. They are every where.
In a way these people do help out even though yes that labour willbe cheap. Like i have one gal who does my hair(plaiting) and she's really good. Everytime she asks for less money i give her more, coz i really understand their situation back home.
I dont think its wise to deport them. We donno what the future holds. What if tomorow its us in their country?
Nice post. Is it my first time here?
Afro...go to hell..
* afro - you need to move in different circles o (lol), naijas are also going on these enforced holidays
* jaybabe - deportations usually happen when govts pander to nationalist and protectionist zeal. some countries cannot sustain unmanaged migration, i suppose, but it is a global world we live in nowadays, so i agree there's no point in deporting people.
What is going on?
There has been no strategic and tactical thinking given given to the effect of migration.
The world is getting more populous
Individuals, organisations and nation as a whole are still living in excesses.
Gradually an awakening is occuring and a realisation is dawning that the world does not have endless resources.
That you do not invite visitors to stay when you don't have adequate provision.
Wo I can write a sermon but the long and short is the world is suddenly becoming smaller and smaller and the impication is hitting home
lol at afrobabe...listen to jinta.nigerians are overly affected, look around
what i dont get is why we wouldnt pick ourselves up and hop back home before we are packaged(thats for the unemployed roamers)
theres lots of untapped areas growing in home countries, its possible to get yourself something good. rather than remain behind and granting them cheap labor which they gladly pay for and same time gladly throw the dirt on crime rates on us...it doesnt make sense, does it?
well i guess it does cos thats what a bunch of folks are still doing.
* 30+ - you're quite right that the world is growing smaller, however, on the contention that there has been no strategic and tactical thinking applied to migration, i'm not too sure...
history tells us that west indian labour were agressively courted in the late 40s into the 50s to support post-war UK reconstruction, in the 60's for their nursing staff, filipinos and indians in the 70s for the same, and nigerians in the 80s and 90s also for nurses and doctors.
in the us, probably half the population are 1st, 2nd or 3rd generation migrants and until recently, they were embraced
* FQ - that happens probably because someone struggling here can still help a family out back home. i know some guy who rents a room here, but sends money home to pay for a flat for his mom and another shared by his brothers (another story, this one)
I watched a recent documentary on migrants in the Uk and lots of people seem unhappy about the growing rate. It's not just the illegal ones they want out but even the legal ones.
How are you?
* for the love - you're absolutely right that they want everyone out. a catch 22 is the National Health Service, the biggest employer in the uk, which is unable to cope with the foreign influx but cannot survive without foreign medical and other support staff.
I don't know why the panic is settling in. I mean immigrants are holding the economy together, i live in london and its very hard to see an english doctor. The same goes for engineers, dentists.... and these diciplines are still crying out for more professionals.
If they could fill those positions with their own people we will all be out of here pronto...however god is so good that they cannot. I rest my case.
he is bac. i just wrote an exam and the bulk of the questions were on immigrants. these pple have the worse of both worlds at home and were they seek refugee.
but nigerian illegal migrants? i dont think nigeria is that bad to begin with. but u neva kknow.
i think the issue shld b tackled differently...
i could go on and on
Hmmmmm...maybe people shd stop engaging in illegal activities. But it's a lose-lose situation sometimes since people are just trying to SURVIVE.
I'm an international student, though I'm not illegal...I understand the sufferings...
Still, for law and order to prevail, the laws of a land need to be stringent and adhered to.
I almost screamed when I saw that 30+ voiced one of my deepest sentiments: "That they do not invite visitors to stay when they don't have adequate provision.
The United States has opened doors for international students, H1-B visa holders, and other temporary visa holders...they therefore need to make sure that with these invitations they also create allowances for these people to keep staying beyond their contracts. What if these invited visitors find green land in America? What if they can contribute further to the wealth of America?
what is going on? the poor country is getting over populated.. lol and its too small to accomodate everyone's need!
I heard they even fine u a thousand bucks if someone comes to visit on holiday visa and refuses to go back to their country.
i agree with Jarrai..... the funny thing is in these countries especially in US, they cant do without the huge taxes they get from these 'illegal immigrants'
lol....personally i dont think all these measure being taken is causing any change as the number of illegal immigrants increases by the day. I think b4 deportation is done the situation of the immigrant should be assessed deeply becoz all the morraeffers running around doing crime are making it hard 4 the honest ones that just want to survive and make a living.
meanwhile, jintaaaaaaaa....worrup...how borri?
geeeeeeeeeeeeez, u just put this up today na wa o! when can i ever be first? am pissed:-(
My darling Jintus, even iya charlie(Queen) has nothing on the sexy way you chew*wink*
They should legalize themselves or go back to their father/mother lands. God placed everyone of us legitimately in our homelands.(I know its not this simple, but...)
Illegal immigration is the word ofv the day everyday over here in the States. Particularly in the DMV region - Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia. There have been random arrests over the week all over Virginia and Maryland of primarily Latin American immigrants regardless of their status. They are arrested and taken from their jobs for further processing which then determines whether or not they will be deported.
The issues that such actions take are crucial. The broken families that develop when a bread winner is deported, parents whose kids have legal US citizenship and separated. Employers who rely on cheap labor are left in a lurch without their employees. Now, I am do not encourage illegal activity of any kind, but when people discuss illegal immigrants and immigrants in general, the conversations tend to ignore the serious familial issues that arise. And of course the consequences for small businesses. Anyway, let me stop here with this epistle. I hope all is well. I saw you latest comment at Nigerian Curiosity. You don't rely mean that, do you?
Take care!
* jarai - you're right about the role of the migrant population, the news would have us believe otherwise
* anon gal - the topic seems to be ruling the airwaves now
* jaycee - another perspective, obeying the law. would we rather have dafur situations though, when people have no means of escape?
* sha - 1st time i've heard about the fine but it would not surprise me
* funms - its not just the taxes, their industries - especially the hotel and fruit-picking ones, cannot survive without illegal migrants
I kinda support omosewa. let them pack their Ghana-must-go bags and go back home.
Ok,some people went for greener pastures, but God can still do a miracle in their homelands.
@Solomonsydelle....lol@ taken from their jobs for further processing"
* inde - yes, indeed, the crimonal element are causing a lot of damage to the honest ones
* s-sexy - move closer to your pc? lol
* 'sewa - if you let everyone know i've been chewing, they're bound to ask: what have i been chewing? i smell trouble. lol
i dont think its that easy to send people back - many of them will get slapped silly by the families they've been supporting and who would ask how on earth they allowed themselves to get caught
* ms sydelle - to support your argument, many do not see illegal migration as a crime, even 'black' churches. i must confess i tend to agree with them
ahn ahn.. u already have 27 comments? hissssssssssand i thot i'll be first.. i'll be back 2 read....
I didn't know ur birthday was April.. wat day is it please, pray do tell!
* darkelcee - ah, abeke, you're tough o
* doja - you would have thot they'd have known this before expanding the eu?
* 1stpet - i beg no vex, next time i will inform you b4 updating.
my dad came to this country and i wonder how different the projection of his life would've been if this current political push became an actuality...hmmm
also, we have an INCREDIBLE amount of illegal mexicans workin here that the country is makin an amazing amount of money on...
they really want to make the money, but they don't want the intrusion either... whatever. ONE WORLD people... *smh*
*glad to FINALLY see a new post*... u were missed jintu...
he has returned!!!!...joy!!!!...
...i see this whole thing as scapegoating...now that the economies (uk, us) are taking nosedives, someone must be blamed...eh, eh...the 'illegal' immigrants...in fact, all these damn immigrants-forget that my grandmother was an immigrant...yeah...they have come and made everything bad...its their fault that everything is bad-a al hitler style...remember how he blamed the jewish people in germany?...
...i don't pity the immigrant receiving countries at all...in fact, i laugh at the waste of money to deport 'illegal' immigrants who will be back, and tomorrow if case isn't taken...the immigrant receiving countries always seem to conveniently forget how their foreign policies/globalization affects shit-namely economics and social issues-in immigrant sending countries...they forget that their convenient lifestyles 'demand' that there be 'illegal' immigration...so i just laugh as they spend money to fight the very thing helping them to have that money...gluttonous fools...they want to have the cake and also eat it...shei, you don see the obesity phenomena with them as well?...
It's scapegoating,that's all.In the 50's and 60s it was communists,in the 70s it was hippies,in the 80s communists(again),in the 90s it was gangster rap,now it's illegal immigrants and terrorists.Often used interchangeably.
There is always something to scream about as the end of (Western)civilization. They'll move on to something else soon enough.Probably China.Or communism(again).
@afrobabe
Too few(relatively speaking) Nigerians and too many other black people. We get lost in the crowd.
@solomonsydelle
Just wait till those food prices rise for lack of cheap migrant farm labour.Or cleaning ladies.Or construction workers;I could go on.We'll hear another tune then.
i left a comment here yesterday o jinta. kilode?
anyway, i was saying i heard that if u enter a country illegally, and want to avoid being deported, thorw ur passport away. burn it. when the government comes for u, they will have no idea where u r from, so cant deport u anywhere.
na hear i hear o. but really, i dont blame them for deporting illegals. every gov wants to be sure of the state of the country, and the people in it whom they are responsible for.
still i dont blame the illegal immigrants either. life too hard, and visa wahala no be small. they just want to survive.
@jaybabe- why r u beefing afrobabe now? we nigerians r not bad at all
* honeywell - i do believe the situation in the uk is similar to that in the us.
glad to hear you have the weather channel. lol
* desy - i think there's an incredible amount of illegals everywhere.
thank you. glad to be back. work conspired against me. missed you terribly
* g-nigeriana - these societies always will look for someone or something to blame. they say no illegal migration, but are happy to employ intelligent cheap labour. they say africa is corrupt, but 95% of the stolen money ends up in the west. who are they kidding?
how have you been?
* nine - how about we blame the illegal communists?
What is dis??
Jinta tell me its not true o...not now when i am about to come over!!!!
Bu hu hu hu hu
LOL!!!!
* uzezi - i dont believe you left a comment yesterday, and for this one, why are you sitting on both sides of the fence now?
* princesa - i bet no one would dare deport you, princesa
ah ah, i didnt know its getting this serious o, me i think people should just bear it in their different countries, instead of coming over and being treated like a criminal, its really depressing, ive experienced it with a family member, its not an easy process. ts really not worth it.
jinta how u dey, lng time
FEAR!
What's going on is that they are putting more pressure on us to go home and develop our own land. Let's face it, if Nigeria was anything like the UK (and I don't think the UK is such a great place) or the US, then we would be less likely to migrate. Remember the "ghana must go days?" Loads of Nigerians want to live in the Ghana of new.
Besides, what you find is that the resources that are meant for the indigenes end up not being enough as the immigrants take up a part of it.
The Home office has come under tremendous pressure in the recent past. This is totally expected.
(Hi Jinta, I left a response to Nyemoni's last post which I would like you to read. It gives a different perspective to her post. My hope is that it will help you look at the story in a different light)
My very own Jintuspeperempe...have a lovely week,mwahhh
watttt ???
for real?
this is so upseting, i don't want to leave a comment. Naija might b a failing nation, if any of thise oyibo reports r anything to go by, but i'd rather b here dan live in jand or yankee. Nonsense!!!!
lol...I really must move in the wrong circles cos I haven't heard of any nigerians deported except for dodgy deals...
@jaybabe...thats what happens when u type long ass comments..lmao...
@nine...I dont know but for some reason I feel they are not that interested in nigerians anymore...for one we no longer fill up the news...
and Mr Jinta needs to update more often
naaaaaaaaa waaaaaaaaaaaa oooooooooo...i no know sey i don miss....er illegal immigrant...all i can say is...DONT BE ONE!!!!
* fresh - it is indeed an unpleasant trend. You sort of feel sorry for those caught in the web but again, the law's the law
i'm very well, thanks
* pammy - the fear only exists in my heart when you leave these one word comments. lol
* in my head - one cannot dispute the strain migration puts on the resources, i concede, however, would it be possible for host countries to get the benefits of migration without the downside?
i've popped back to Nyemoni's and i can see how one can easily jump to conclusions. i also see your point but tend to disagree a little, for reasons i'd rather we took off-line to discuss (email me if you like). I would simply say here, though, that striking the right balance is essential, in my opinion.
* 'sewa - the fire of my love for you can never be quenched, but this peperempe thing? its enough to kill a man's libido. are you trying to turn me harmless?
how was your weekend?
* ms emmo - yes o
* afro - we must hook up so i take you round some dubious circles
* anon gal - i'll try, the Lord knows i want to
* onome - if i get deported, will you put me up?
Lmaoooo, okay i'll find something a little more sexy...do you like Akanfe ...but i'll shorten it to A.K?:D
My weekend was nice, saturday was fun.
Oya update.
awww, my sweet jintu
u missed me...?
show me...*smiles seductively*
na wa o they are really out to get illegal immigrants sa!
All these talk about illegal aliens and deportation is depressing but as had been severally pointed out, the US/UK particularly just want to eat their cake and have it.
They want to enjoy the benefits of migration without the attendant costs.
When they needed doctors and nurses to work in their hospitals, they came for your best. Now they say you are choking up their Medicare.
When they needed students to fill their schools which were becoming emptier and uneconomical to maintain due to a declining population, they gave you all kinds of scholarships.
When their economies were declining due to a shrinking market (negative population growth), they sent for your reproductive abilities to shore up their populations. Now they say you're breeding like pigs.
When they needed you they talked about 'cultural diversity',(Hey! They even gave you 'Diversity Visas) but now they say you are tainting their culture. They want to maintain cultural purity.
I believe they will keep doing what they are doing - mass arrests and deportations - until it becomes unbearable then they will turn it to rough, just like Hitler did.
First they will come for the 'illegals', then for the 'legals' with expired papers, then for the 'legals' who have overstayed their welcome, then for the 'legally legal', then for you.
Una sef, do you want to wait until they push you before you leave?
I still maintain that if just 50% of the African professionals who left Africa in the last twenty years return home, Africa would be much better.
There are enough natural resources but the competent human resources to work it is what is lacking.
Ile to o lo! (Its time to go home).
* 'sewa - akanfe, hmmm, i like. or akando? now, that's a name
* desy - you know when you smile like that...
* pink - it seems so. i hear they even look for them in bus stations, etc
* nimmo - "First they will come for the 'illegals', then for the 'legals' with expired papers, then for the 'legals' who have overstayed their welcome, then for the 'legally legal', then for you."
lol. you paint a frightening picture and i suspect you may be right that hitler started like that.
i have to disagree though about 'legals' going back home involuntarily. you must remember that so many people have children who are 1st generation citizens of their respective host countries and who can call no other place home.
A lot of us have made very successful homes and businesses here and for some in europe, particularly, a 6 hour flight to lagos is nothing compared to the lives they have established.
most importantly, to my mind, it takes someone of immense stupidity (like me) to be attracted to nigeria. there is no power, no water, a lack of good roads, no security, unbelievable pollution, irrational traffic, area boys, theiving politicians and armed robbers, relatively uncontrolled poverty, dead bodies on streets, lawlessness, a lack of regard for life and property, noise pollution (i know these, as i go 3 or 4 times a year); in fact, all those things that cut your life short. On paper, nigeria is not attractive and i dont blame people who dont want to go there. like i said, for those of us reckless and foolhardy enough to still find it attractive, i recommend a brain examination, including for myself.
LOL, please dont traumatise me. I'm still trying to get over the other incident...*shudders*
Have a nice day, mwahhh.
I still think all immigrants (1st/2nd/3rd generation- legal or otherwise) should down their tools for one day. Lets see what the impact will be.
* 'sewa - that's my revenge for trying to emasculate me with peperempe. lol
* ababoy - i agree: we wield much more power than we realise
Discussing Immigration now days is like discussing Religion.
Someone is always going to disagree with your opinion.
There are too many personal feelings involved in discussing immigration.
My coin is two sided. I have more then one view. A part of me disagrees with the fact that they are 'illegal'
Another part of me says what would I do if I were desperate to feed or keep my family safe.
My answer is, what ever I had to do.
So I can understand so their plight.
@ Jinta: Bros, I do not advocate a wholesale return of ALL African professionals. Haba, the Western societies will just collapse. As in an end to their civilization.
I will quote Marcus Garvey here, what he wrote in response to suggestions that he wanted to take all Americans of African ancestry back to Africa, he wrote, "We do not want all the Negroes in Africa. Some are no good here, and naturally will be no good there"
The fact is that Africa's best live and work outside Africa. Many people get mad at me when I say that Africa's 'First Eleven' is outside Africa.
If asked, I will trade Lamidi Adedibu for Chinua Achebe any day but will the U.S agree to keep the Alaafin of Molete for just one day?
I will even add Akala, Eteh and Obasanjo on top just for Achebe alone.
Now dont let me start on how many of our so called Senators I will trade for Phil Emegweali.
And for the sheer quality of intelligence I have seen on this Naija corner of Blogville, I'd willingly trade Yar'Adua himself. Along with Goodluck Jonathan.
All those things you listed are actually the results of having mediocres on the job of our leadership. We will keep having these problems for as long as our 'Eighth or Ninth Eleven' keep running things.
By Jinta: most importantly, to my mind, it takes someone of immense stupidity (like me) to be attracted to nigeria. there is no power, no water, a lack of good roads, no security, unbelievable pollution, irrational traffic, area boys, theiving politicians and armed robbers, relatively uncontrolled poverty, dead bodies on streets, lawlessness, a lack of regard for life and property, noise pollution
I totally agree...it's really crazy to openly declare that one is attracted to such a mess. But the only attraction to me (I shouldn't even call it attraction) would be to go back and restore hope to my motherland. It's good to be brutally honest with oneself about these things. Yes, it's great and loyal to go back, but it's not an attractive phenomenon.
So I check to see if u've updated yet, and I am met with this brutal illegality issue still...a topic that makes my skin crawl. Update naw. Shuuuuu? (lol)
* exseno - add politics to that
* nimmo - as usual, i cannot fault your argument. Pls keep adidibu and akala, the both of them are enough to destroy the economy of the west
* jaycee - one hopes we will get the chance to help our country. it seems difficult when the same guys that were there in the 50s are still the ones there by proxy thru' their children: the saraki's, otedila's, even dangote, although i hear he is trying to do good things
@ Nine: Exactly. They have already proven that immigrants (illegal or otherwise) have incredible infvluence on economies. A tv report looked at a small rural town in the US where 'illegals' were practicallyc ahsed out and interviewed the small business owners and members ofv the community. Cheap labor is a reality of capitalism, when the INS/USCIS (immigration services) used to allow Latin Americans to come work in the US for limited periods of time with the ability to come and go, these people were able to come work and return to their families. Now that it is impossible for seasonal workers to come and go, the consequences for latin America (towns and cities devoid of young productive people, and the U.S. an influx of undereducated, non speaking Latin Americans into an already stressed society, is causing issues. Oh well, I am now officially leaving this topic alone, but will say to all the Nigerians that read this, if you live abroad - GET YOUR PAPERS STRAIGHT! It is only a matter of time before Africans/Caribbeans become the focus.
@nimmo
You can't ask the African professionals abroad to go home;the ones there are already having enough trouble.Besides,on a practical economic level, direct investment by immigrants counts for the majority of foreign investment worldwide, outstripping 'financial aid' by donor governments.World Bank estimates are about $300 billion last year.
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/18/weekinreview/18deparle.html
mmmhmmm...
*uncrossing and crossing my legs*
what does it do for u jintu?
* solo - africans are already the main target in this part of europe
* nine - i believe it was ngozi iweala (sp?), the former finance minister that estimated nigerians send home over $4b into the economy i.e half a trillion naira, (or N500 billion), annually
* desy - aarrggghh...
hmmm jinta!!! u don dey catch up with afrobabe o......see comments(lol)...meanwhile i trust u wont be deported...however, should u have cause or need to return to ur motherland we'll take matters up from there(lol)
hmm tons of intrestin opinions here. in lite of wat british airways did to the deportee/ nigerian passenger, i support ababoys comment. they cant do witout the immigrants cheap labour. plus the 3d jobs ( dirty, demanding, deameanin) wld b unattended to.
these dev countries are just a bunch of racist. who feel superior as if they can exsist wit out us.
*hisses and exits blog winkin at Jinta*
Abeg I no want see any dubious circles oh before the CCTV follows me home from there...
I hear its cos the citizens r not getting the best jobs.
so Jinx baby, wen are u updating...my f5 key don dey spoil o...
The Nigerian economy is presently booming, access to finance is improving, the middle class is re emerging, Nigeria has been marked by Goodman and Sachs as one of the Next 11 with the potential to be the next BRIC. Bottom line this is the time to make investments in Nigeria, to start up a business, to get adequate returns…..so illegal immigrants should be encouraged to come home.
so i'm blogxploring and i come across this very serious topic, i pause and scratch my head first "do i understand all these smart talk?"lol
Developed countries are "Users" and "Dumpers"!
Germany after the war needed plenty of labour to help rebuild their ruins, so they invited turks(mostly),yugoslavs etc, now their country is rebuilt and all u hear is how useless the Turks are and how they shld just all exit germany. Hmphh (i talk about germany, cuz that's the place i'm most familiar with)
The US and the UK have started their own dumping, as nimmo already said, they've taken the best! if they really want to dump, let them deport the best too now? not just the pple who do the 3D jobs, they will now know that their pple are very useless *really long hiss*
their economies are nosediving, so it is by deporting pple that everything will get better? i advise strongly that they should call on God, humble themselves, repent from their evil, lazy-ass ways and leave the poor,hardworking,tax-paying immigrants alone!
Nigeria is guilty too sha, remember how we chanted "Ghana-must-go" till they left? now, the tables are turned! maybe if our people too come home, things will get so much better and we can kick racists out of OUR country!
pardon me Jinta, for "posting" on ur blog on my very first visit!i just despise the methods adopted by these two-faced, two-tongued racists!
dannnggg Smaragd....did you spend the day at the library?
@ jinta: sweetheart, please update. this topic is too depressing 2 moi
u have to update man. i dey beg. on bended knees.
hahaha...
that's not an answer jintu...
@ afro why do u think of all the Nigerians cctv will pick U to follow home?
@ annon gal..My dear by the time I start yarning....dropping all the big grammar Jinta,Gnaija,Naapali and Aloofa speak they will think I am a queen pin oh...so I best stay away innit???
illegal immigrants?
where?
in naija?
ah, ok. the nigerians that are terrorising all our border countries - Niger/Benin/Cameroun even the sea, atlantic ocean. Heard they want to start to run for government there sef.
UPDATE PLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Just checking in on you, Uncle jinta. Hope all is well?
Re: immigration, can I just say that those naijas with dodgy immigration status should stop indulging in criminality while abroad. This is the single most annoying and disturbing factor to all indigenes of the UK or US, if you ask them.
Most illegal immigrants only get deported after committing serious crimes. The majority who live a decent hardworking life are usually allowed to do so in peace. So my advice is: if you are an illegal immigrant, keep your head down and work hard and all will be well in the end.
However, if you want to use your anonymity within the system to do 419, your 'works' and 'deeds' will eventually catch up with you. 'Nuff said.
BTW, Gwent is in Wales. I wouldn't have thought there'd be a lot of immigrants in that quiet part of the UK. but I guess we learn something new everyday.
Update this joint oh...I am tired of stalking...dont want to come here and not take first...its not done...
If I blink now there will be 20 comments!!!
@ afrobabe, u are not serious o...lol, is it not this serious man who made me remember some of the things i learnt in school, i developed a headache after all that serious thinking!
* onome - i take that as a 'yes', you will put me up
* anon gal - 1st time hearing 3d jobs - where have i been?
* afro - cctv (a little bird)already done pinpoint you o
* oluwadee - that's what they think, still not many of us on 6 figure salaries though
* inde - dearest, how about i get you another keyboard?
* doll - you're absolutely right, but that's only one part of the picture. most illegals dont have enough money to return home ans invest
* smaragd, the head-scratching blodxplorer - dont worry about the long post. always good to hear another perspective.
re the 'ghana must go', many people do not realise that the ghanaians expelled nigerians first and that the nigerian move was a reaction. i think the ghana govt of the day had no idea there were so many of their citizens in nigeria
* florida - as you asked so nicely, how can i refuse?
* uzezi - now, in that position...hmmm...
* desy - that's the most expressive answer ever, just imagine it
* tobenna - i will apply to be president
* sha - you said please? omg! Jesus' 2nd coming
* solo - all is well, thank you. had to attend to some things that put money in my pocket
* naijalines - the criminal elemnt within illegal immegration is indeed substantial, as you rightly point out.
thanks for the education in gwent. i could not be bothered to look it up
